  WorldMAC Activity Courses

The WorldMAC Alliance advocates, unlike those that prevent their members from attending events organized by other associations and which is a breach of human rights, there are obvious benefits to be gained by people of all ages, nationalities, religions and cultures through participation in inter-club or multi-style courses, seminars, competitions and student exchange programmes staged at locations conducive to the harmonious development of mind, body and spirit.  The WorldMAC Alliance provides a wide variety of martial arts related courses and can structure additional training or leisure activities to individual or group requirements.  These may be staged within existing club premises or at venues in the scenic Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, whilst for the more adventurous there are many suitable venues situated across Europe, Asia and in more exotic locations that provide opportunities to learn a cross-section of skills, meet other people and make new friends.

  WorldMAC Meditation Retreats

There are many aspects to meditation regarded as ways of transforming the human mind through relaxation, concentration, breath control and the creation of inner peace.  It is claimed regular meditation helps to focus the mind, banish stress and anger, overcome fears, frustration and phobias, correct mental and physical imbalances, and develop awareness, confidence, teaching skills and wisdom, all of which are essential attributes to good martial arts practice.  The World Martial Arts Council provides opportunities to learn the art of meditation through the provision of introductory and intermediate day classes at a number of venues, or weekend courses and guided retreats of longer duration with the option of non-residential or residential attendance.

Military Concert & Festival of Culture

The Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to those who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces, and also to their dependants. The organization was founded in 1921 as a result of the unification of four associations with similar objectives; was granted a Royal Charter on 29 May 1971 to mark its fiftieth anniversary, and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and Remembrance services.  The idea of poppies dates back to the poem In Flanders Fields and are now worn not only to remember the fallen of the First World War, but those of all wars.  Since 1933 there has also been the White Poppy of the Peace Pledge Union, and although this is not so widely publicised, it is seen by anti-war activists as a symbolic alternative.

Music is an integral part of service life and events organized by the Royal British Legion that boasts over fifty bands including full concert show bands, brass ensembles, pipe and drum bands, marching carnival bands, youth bands and the Central Band of the Royal British Legion formed in 1944.  Military bands have been in existence for many centuries and have been used to drill soldiers, lead armies into battle, and to signal strategic and tactical manoeuvres on battlefields throughout military history.  In an endeavour to raise funds to alleviate the suffering of innocent victims of war, the WorldMAC Foundation, together with Lieutenant Colonel G. Kingston, former Principal Director at the Royal Military School of Music, produced a unique collection of inspirational military music written specifically for this purpose.

Fighting Spirit Concert

To raise funds for the Royal British Legion, a concert with martial arts demonstrations and cultural entertainment is to be held in the Manchester Velodrome to commemorate all those that have given their lives in support of the nation.  Leading members of the Royal British Legion will be invited along with the Chelsea Pensioners and veterans of the World Wars.  The event is also an opportunity to show public appreciation for the efforts of all those currently serving in the armed forces who risk their lives in the line of duty.  All tickets will be numbered and there will be a free prize draw that will enable up to four people to visit the Normandy Beaches and War Graves.

Members of Martial Art Organizations

The martial arts community in the United Kingdom is far larger than is often believed, and many of its members never get the opportunity to support events that benefit people in need.   Politics, greed and the desire for power have been endemic throughout the history of martial arts in the United Kingdom, and many associations, instructors and competition promoters have operated in ways designed to benefit themselves.  The World Martial Arts Council was established to abolish such practices, and now seeks the support of every genuine martial arts organization and individual martial artist.   The motto of the WorldMAC Games is ‘Ludere Non Bellare’ which translates as ‘Sport Not War’ and conveys the message ‘Fight Without Fighting’, which is something every martial artist should strive to achieve.  The Battle of Britain Quest for Champions Tournament will be immediately followed by the Fighting Spirit Concert.   This final event of the programme is an opportunity for all martial artists and cultural organizations to demonstrate their skills for a worthy cause, or to give their unselfish support through attendance.

Members of Families Affected by War

Every family in the United Kingdom has at some stage been been involved in, or affected by, wars that still continue today in different parts of the world.  These are the innocent victims of war that the World Martial Arts Council is committed to help.  We ask all families whose members have been affected by war, and the tragedies it brings, to give their support to this event.

Members of the Younger Generation

Whilst younger generations are not fully aware of the horrors of war or the sacrifices made by their ancestors, the perception that young people lack discipline, direction, respect, and the desire to work is false.  Many youngsters have done much for charity despite having to overcome tremendous personal difficulties, and it is to these we offer the opportunity to conduct martial arts or cultural demonstrations that will honour all those of previous generations who gave so much, and ensure they will never be forgotten.

The Velodrome

The Manchester Velodrome has a seating capacity of 3,500 and it is hoped this event will be televised together with the preceding Battle of Britain Tournament.  Our mission is to fill this arena to capacity, your task is to be there and support the exploits of the Royal British Legion, and to commemorate the so few, owed so much, by so many.

Eyes Front - Listen In

Due to the enormity of this annual event and to allow pre-registration, all entry and spectator fees must be paid before the closing date. This will be no later than two weeks prior to the event and will be shown on all promotional material.
